So why be concerned, a floor is heavy solid and sound walls are upright and smooth.This should be okay,you may think.

Large format tiles which Artistic Ceramic Tile and Marble Inc installs that are larger than 8" requires the concrete or wood sub  floor not to be out of deflection of plane more than 1/4" in 20' or the tiles will pitch next to each other and create uneven edge or lip-page. Similar , hard surface material wall work on a vertical surface, the wall will need to be plumb and a flat surface or a similar undesirable result will occur, especially with thin veneer porcelain tile.
